Reiki

40-55 MINUTES £47 | course of 3 treatments £135

Reiki is a complementary therapy, and is largely seen as an oriental version of spiritual healing, based on the laying on of hands and the channelling of a form of energy, or a "spiritual energy". Reiki is a safe, gentle, non-intrusive treatment, used for balancing, healing and harmonising all aspects of the person. The Japanese word Reiki is usually translated as 'Universal life-force energy'.

The potential for healing with Reiki is unlimited, so anything or anyone can be treated.

The most common feelings from a Reiki treatment are relaxation, heat or warmth from your therapist's hands, a floating or sinking feeling, tingling sensations and an emotional release.

The first session includes a FREE initial consultation will last up to an hour. Following treatments will be up to 45 minutes. Please allow an hour to relax and have a glass of water.

There are many beneficial effects of Reiki, it promotes natural self-healing, balances the energies in the body, heals holistically, strengthens the immune system, relieves pain, clears toxins, enhances personal awareness, relaxes and reduces stress, promotes creativity, treats symptoms and causes of illness, adapts to the natural needs, releases blocked and suppressed feelings, balances the organs and glands, aids meditation and positive thinking.

Hopi Ear Candles

40 MINUTES £42

Ear candling improves general health and well-being. It removes ear wax and debris from the ear and facial sinuses which is believed to stimulate the body’s natural excretion of dead cells, pollen, mould, parasites and other. The column of warm air rising in the candle massages the ear drum while pressure in the sinus cavities and ears are equalised. Once the candles have been used in both ears you are then treated to a pressure point facial massage for relaxation and help with the drainage process.

Ear candling is not advised if you:

  • Have high blood pressure

  • Are 12 weeks (or under) pregnant

  • Wear grommets

  • Are suffering an ongoing ear or sinus infection

  • Are allergic to any of the ingredients in the candle

Reflexology

40 MINUTES £47

Reflexology is a natural, non-invasive therapy based on the principle that the entire body is represented by reflex points on the feet, with each point corresponding to an individual part of the body. Reflexologists use gentle stimulation of these reflex points in a precise and systematic way to revitalise, restore and maintain the body’s natural balance.

To function effectively, the body requires energy in the form of oxygen and nutrients, which are circulated in the blood. By stimulating over 7000 nerves in the feet, reflexology aims to improve blood circulation and increase the efficiency of all organs and cells.

Reflexologists believe that when the body is ill, injured or stressed, vital energy pathways are blocked preventing it from functioning optimally. Reflexology is thought to help unblock these pathways by facilitating the elimination of toxins from the body.

75% of disease is attributed to stress and many GPs now refer patients for reflexology as a complement to conventional medicine. Long term exposure to stress compromises the immune system and can result in fatigue, depression, ill-health and low energy.

After a session of reflexology, you may notice that you feel more relaxed, that body tension eases and you experience improved sleep, better mood, increased energy levels, and a sense of general improved well being.

Many health insurance companies will reimburse your treatments costs which you are advised to look into further.

How many sessions will I need?

This will depend on the conditions to be treated, but generally improvement may be noticed after 4 – 6 weekly sessions; equally occasional sessions are a wonderful treat to calm and de-stress.

Is there anyone who should not be treated?

Reflexology is a gentle, safe, non-invasive therapy and is suitable for children and the elderly. However, it is not suitable to treat anyone who has conditions such as thrombosis, embolism, phlebitis, gangrene or shingles. Reflexology should be avoided in the first three months of pregnancy, but can be very helpful through the remainder of the pregnancy.

Reflexology does not claim to diagnose or cure, and should be used alongside advice and treatment from your doctor
